What the MCP server is
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that lets an AI assistant call the tools of an outside system directly. Instead of guessing an API from documentation, the assistant receives a typed list of tools with exact parameter names and descriptions.
The PanelFollows MCP server exposes your account to an assistant through that list. Every tool calls the same REST API (v3) that developers use, so an order placed by an assistant follows exactly the same rules as one placed in the panel: same prices, same balance checks, same refund logic.
It is included with every account at no extra cost. You pay only for the orders you place.
Connection URL
Use this address in any client that supports remote MCP servers over Streamable HTTP. Authorization is discovered automatically through the standard OAuth metadata documents, so there is nothing else to configure.

Add the URL
Paste the connection URL into your AI client as a remote MCP server or custom connector.

Approve in the panel
The client opens a PanelFollows approval screen. Sign in if needed, check the requested access and approve. Tick view-only if the assistant should not place orders.

Setup by client
Clients that can sign in with OAuth need only the URL. Clients and scripts that can send headers can use an API key instead.
- Claude (web and desktop): add the URL as a custom connector in the connector settings, then approve the connection on the panel screen.
- ChatGPT: on plans that allow custom connectors, turn on developer mode and create a connector with the URL.

No password, no key copying
OAuth 2.1 with PKCE and dynamic client registration. You approve each client on a PanelFollows screen and can disconnect it at any time from your dashboard.
View-only mode
A view-only connection never sees the write tools, so it cannot place, cancel or refill anything, whatever the prompt says.
Confirmation before spending
The server instructs the assistant to price every order first and ask for your explicit confirmation before placing it. Order tools are flagged as destructive for clients that show warnings.
No access to money movement
No tool can add funds, withdraw, change your password or reach another account. Every call is written to an audit log and every order appears in your order list.

Frequently asked questions
Which AI assistants can connect?
Any client that supports remote MCP servers over Streamable HTTP. With OAuth: Claude on the web and desktop, ChatGPT with custom connectors, Claude Code, Cursor and VS Code. Clients that cannot complete OAuth can connect with an API key sent as a Bearer header.
Is the MCP server free?
Yes. It is included with every PanelFollows account. Orders the assistant places are paid from your prepaid balance at the same prices as in the panel.
Can the assistant spend my balance without asking?
The server tells the assistant to price every order and wait for your explicit confirmation before placing it. If you want a hard guarantee instead of an instruction, connect in view-only mode: the write tools are then not offered to the assistant at all.
How long does a connection stay signed in?
Access tokens are valid for 8 hours and are renewed with a refresh token that lasts 90 days and rotates on every use. Disconnecting a client in the dashboard revokes it immediately.
Is there a request limit?
Yes, 600 requests per minute per connection, the same as the REST API. Normal conversational use stays far below it.
Can my child panel customers connect their assistants too?
Yes. Every child panel serves the same MCP server on its own domain, so a reseller's customers connect under the reseller's brand and never see the main panel's address.
